Declutter in 5 Minutes: The Power of a Timer
Feeling stuck? Grab a timer and try this:
1️⃣ Pick One Small Area – A drawer, a kitchen utensil holder, or a single shelf.
2️⃣ Use the Keep or LETS-GO Method – Sort into four categories:
✅ Keep – Items you love, need, and use.
📍 Lives Elsewhere – Things that belong in another room.
🗑️ Trash – Broken, stained, or unusable? Out it goes!
❤️ Sentimental/Heirloom - You can set aside to tackle when you've time to spend.
🎁 Goes Out – Donations, sellable items, or borrowed things.
3️⃣ Set a 5-Minute Timer – You can do anything for five minutes!
4️⃣ Sort Quickly – No overthinking. Just start placing items in the right spots.
5️⃣ Clean as You Go – Wipe down the space before placing your Keep items back in an organized way.
🎉 Boom! You just decluttered!
